Introducing the Rivian R1T and R1S

Those among us, and there are plenty, who admire their truck or SUV for its go-anywhere, do-anything attitude might look towards an electrified future with some doubt. But then, along comes newly founded EV manufacturer Rivian.

Rivian has reimagined electric vehicles with the debut of the R1T and R1S models. The futuristic yet practical R1T will be one of the first electric pickup trucks on the auto market, while the R1S will be tackling the already competitive electric SUV market. Both models have steep price tags but offer a stylish interior and exterior design, impressive technology, and, most importantly, a decent range.

Before the Rivian R1T and R1S hit the road, let’s explore both models and their three trim levels. Explore the world of electric ⚡️ with the Rivian R1T and R1S:

Rivian R1T

The electric pickup truck market has been causing quite the buzz in the auto world. The Rivian R1T will be facing some established car brands in the new electric pickup truck market. You will soon see more electric trucks on the road between the GMC Hummer EV ($101,041 CAD), Ford F1-50 Lightning ($68,000 CAD), Chevrolet Silverado EV, Tesla Cybertruck ($39,900 USD), and now the Rivian R1T.

The R1T’s unique exterior, funky headlights, and luxury-level interior instantly capture your attention. Compared to some of its less practical competitors like the Tesla Cybertruck, there is no doubt that the R1T is an appealing EV option. The R1T will be available in three different trim levels, and all will feature a base range of 300+ miles (482 km).

Rivian is entering a competitive market with playful yet functional electric pickup trucks and SUVs. It will be interesting to see how the Rivian models will perform next to budget-friendly and luxury-level EVs.

The significant backing from companies like Ford and Cox Automotive is certainly promising for the future of Rivian. At its best, a product like the Rivian R1T and R1S could do for the offroad/adventure vehicle segment what the Porsche Taycan recently did for the sports car world— show us that an all-electric future doesn’t have to be a boring one.
