2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS | VINN x Justin Tse

The luxury electric vehicle market is rapidly growing. With the release of the Audi e-tron, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Jaguar I-PACE, there are now more choices for electric vehicles. It seems most high-end automotive brands are focusing on electric SUVs as one of their first models for the luxury EV market. Mercedes-Benz has decided to take a different approach by entering the EV market with an innovative luxury all-electric sedan.

Introducing the EQS: Mercedes-Benz’s striking new EV that combines technology with comfort, luxury, and futuristic style.

Mercedes-Benz explains the new EQS as a “close relative to the new S-Class.” The EQS incorporates S-Class-level extravagance with visionary electric architecture. Aligning with Mercedes-Benz’s Ambition 2039 Initiative, the EQS represents the beginning of an all-electric future.

The US pricing for the EQS places it in the same price range as the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. The first EQS models to come to market are the EQS 450+ and the EQS 580 4MATIC. The EQS 580 4 MATIC will be the first model released in Canada. Both models will feature three trim levels, pricing for EQS 580 4MATIC, and its trims have yet to be released for Canada.

With gas prices hitting a record high, you may be considering switching to an electric vehicle; the good news is that EV drivers save on more than just gas.
